USA's Dr. Joe Cofer was honored Tuesday, March 23 as one of 10
Chattanooga physicians recognized as a National Doctor's Day 2010 Honoree.
Doctor’s Day, celebrated on March 30, is an annual observance to raise
awareness about the active roles physicians play in our community.
Dr. Cofer has worked tirelessly to bring quality medical care to those
in Hamilton County who are underserved and uninsured, through his dedicated
leadership and development of Project Access – a community service that brings
together physicians, hospitals, medical schools, community clinics and many
other partners to make available health care services for low-income and
uninsured residents.
Of the 100 local physicians nominated for recognition, seven are members of USA, including Drs. Luke Erdoes, Christopher LeSar, Shauna Lorenzo-Rivero, Richard Moore, Phillip Smith and Alvaro Valle.
